Our experience of our first Feather Down holiday was a wonderful one. We were met by the lovely Grace and everything was explained to us, and a hamper full of goodies was bought to out tent._x000D_

People have asked us what we did whilst we were there and how we filled our days. It was a fantastically simple way of living, we spent alot of quality time together as a family, fetching wood for the burners, watching the horses outside our tent, relaxing on the verandar in the canvas deck chairs, swinging gently in the hammock, feeding the chickens (as well as the boys constantly checking for freshly laid eggs), also saving the scraps for the pigs in the adjoining field. _x000D_

We enjoyed joining everyone else on the farm for a Farm Talk (show round)by Faye, which was very fasinating, and one of the highlights was to see 5 calves being born, there were even twins! _x000D_

We spent time with another family who were in the tent beside us and enjoyed a glass of wine with them one evening whilst the children all played cricket. _x000D_

It was an absolute pleasure meeting the family that run the farm, Faye, Austin, Grace, Alice, George and Freddie. They were all very friendly, chatty and made us feel very welcome. Our two boys have spoken constantly about the children, who they loved making friends with. _x000D_

The tent was a fasinating combination of the outside being on the other side of a canvass frame with the beauty and rustic setting inside. With the exciting cupboard bed, bunk bed, wood burner stove, large farmhouse table and chairs, comfortable sofa, sufficient utentsils, wooden floorboards and night fall was always by candle light - perfection. _x000D_

Not to miss out the creative hot tub which my partner mastered the art of keeping the water lovely and warm with a roaring fire, we would spend time during the day looking out across the amazing views for miles and miles, (also watching the true workings of the farm in progress) and then watch the stars at night as the night fell dark._x000D_

A surreal but wonderful holiday, an escape but the stresses and strains of every day life, no electronics, no wi-fi - what more could you ask for!!! _x000D_
