Cupboard bed
A particular highlight of the stay for our younger guests, there is often a fight to get to sleep in the cupboard bed. The cosiest corner also makes a fun den for daytime play.

Going without electricity is our greatest luxury
With Feather Down Farms we offer our guests a glimpse of a simpler way of life, without electricity and wi-fi and the gadgets that hold us hostage every day. You’ll forget all those so-called ‘mod cons’ within hours of your arrival in your new cosy home.
Just because you’ve left your creature comforts at home, it doesn’t mean that you’ll be slumming it at Feather Down Farms. Your canvas hideaway comes with fresh running water, a fully equipped kitchen, a flushing toilet, and comfy beds - all the luxury you’ll need. Most of our tents come with their own private shower inside or outside the tent but otherwise, you’ll be using your own allocated cubicle in the farm-house shower block.
We all know not to rely on the Great British weather. That’s why we’ve worked hard to make sure that Feather Down Farm living can take place just as well indoors as out. Our canvas hideaways can be both a space to chill - with a sofa and comfy beds - and a space to play in. Not only are there all manner of nooks and crannies to hide in, the tent increases in size when you open up the front to include the canopy.

Cosy interior
At the centre of your stay, literally, is the Feather Down wood-burning stove. It makes your early morning cuppa and is your central heating when there is a chill in the air.
And in the evening it gives added cosiness to dinner or a board game.
More and more people are looking for a simpler way of life, an outdoor holiday, closer to nature, especially after being cooped up indoors for so long. And if the weather is half-decent you can tie back the sides of your canvas hideaway to literally be at one with nature.
“They’ve thought of everything” exclaim our guests as they enter their Feather Down Farm home for the first time. Measuring nearly 500 square feet there is plenty of room for you to chill out and relax.
At many Feather Down farms there is an option to have a private hot tub beneath the open skies. You’ll stoke it up with wood yourselves to make sure it’s warm enough for a family soak. Or for just the two of you after everyone else is tucked up in bed. Please make sure your hot tub is booked in advance.
Of course, you could load up with tins from the kitchen cupboard at home. But you would be missing out on the simple pleasure of cooking together using local ingredients, whether on the stove top or the outdoor cooker provided at most farms.
