Feather Down
Options & pricesDiscover the Hohenwarter Seehof in Altenbeuthen, Thuringian Forest. The traditional working farm dates back to the 16th century and has direct access to the Hohenwarter reservoir. It is run by Heidi Seiffert and Rolf Schnitter. The farm is home to Dexter cattle, donkeys, pigs, dwarf goats, geese, chickens and rabbits. The comfortable tents are slightly elevated on the edge of the edge of the forest, so that you can enjoy an unobstructed view of the Hohenwarter reservoir.
From the farm there are about 27 km of waterways at your disposal. A network of approx. 70 km of hiking trails invites you to go for long Nordic walks or jogs. If you are in the mood for an excursion, Saalfeld, one of the oldest towns in Thuringia and famous for its fairy taverns, is the perfect place for an excursion. Shopping facilities are available in Pössneck, about 15 minutes away from the farm.
At the Hohenwarter reservoir you can swim and fish to your heart's content. There are various water sports on offer too! If you fancy a boat trip, you can rent a canoe, paddle boat or motor boat to the Hohenwarter Seehof. On your own wood stove or outdoor grill you can prepare delicious dishes. At the end of an eventful day, you sleep in the comfy beds in your tent. Each tent has a toilet and an ensuite shower.
