It was such a change for our whole family to live outside for a few days! The view was gorgeous, the weather was amazing and the kids had the best time playing outside and making new friends. We loved the tent and it felt very comfortable and cosy. We had so many new experiences throughout the weekend - lighting a stove to boil the kettle, flying a kite, toasting marshmallows on a campfire, bottle feeding goats and lambs, breakfasting outside every morning. We will definitely be back!

We had a great stay at East Shilvinghampton. Martin and Joby were briliant hosts, very friendly and helpful. The location was beautiful and despite it being a bit damp we had a superb farm tour and pizza evening. Would definitely go back again.

This is our third visit to Feather Down Farms. We chose Feather Down Farms because we have small children and would like to camp but without all that fuss to dampen our holiday. East Shilvinghampton Farm is the perfect destination. A beautiful farm set in a breath-taking location and owned by a lovely and very helpful family. Thank you so much for being wonderful hosts. You made our stay very comfortable so much so that we really would love to stay again sometime soon.

Mount Pleasant is a beautiful, peaceful location with nothing but fields to be seen all around. It was so nice to be able to purchase produce raised on the farm (delicious beef). The family were very welcoming and pizza night in particular was a hit! Great weekend escape.

My husband and I stayed with my daughter and two granddaughters. The location was amazing, right in the middle of the woods. We stayed in the log cabin ( larch) which was right at the top of the hill. We didn’t mind the exercise but could be tough on older folks. The cabin was clean, the beds were comfy. We felt it was a bit too dark and the cabin would benefit if it had a velux window or the walls inside were painted white. Sammy the owner was very friendly and Emma who gave us the farm tour was lovely and shared lots of useful information about the animals. The best bits were being able to get in with the animals, petting them, freely being allowed to feed them. The woods are full of surprises, with seesaws, swings, balancing and stepping stones. We played pooh sticks in a river just by the horses and picked blackberries. Amazing fun for the kids to explore and parents to watch and relax.

A relaxing experience for us grown ups, yet still full of new experiences and fun things to do for the kids. A refreshing change from the world of computer games and technology. Our 10 year old boys loved playing out, learning about the farm and collecting eggs. Their imagination was brought back to life!

We had a wonderful time at Lunsford Farm. A very sociable site where our boys aged 4 & 2 made some lovely little friends and we, as parents, relaxed a little which makes a glorious change! They were in and out of each others tents, down into the wooded dell which was secure, playing on the see saw etc and there were so many things to do in the area. The boys loved going to feed the lambs and chickens every day, collecting eggs and sitting on the old tractors in the barn. We'd really recommend this to anyone with small children. But we would suggest you take: Earplugs (canvas tent can be noisy in the adults room when it's a rainy/ windy night) Hot water bottles Camping stove (wood burning fire takes ages to get going in the morning) Tea towels (none provided)
