After the initial shock of thinking OMG I've paid almost £1500 for this tent I soon fell in love with it and the relaxed lifestyle it offered. The positives far outweighed the negatives.
The amazing owners Faye, Austin and their 4 children made the holiday, the opportunity to have 5 areas of our own to light fires, the warm cosy bedding, the white linen, the hot tub, the warmth in the tent when it was raining outside, the farm tour, the farm shop selling the basic essentials, the oven for bread in the tent, the large amount of space in the tent and the covered veranda outside, Faye's offer of a meal for the clients, the huge cool box which was cooled by frozen water in "hot" water bottles (found in the freezer in the shop), the cider in the shop is wonderful so buy it, our own chicken coup for eggs, the "bucket" gas fired shower etc.
The negatives - only one toilet roll, no washing up liquid, no tin opener, no oven gloves, no matches (all were easily solved either by asking at the farm or buying), the dust under the bed, the information we received from Feather Down was not entirely accurate especially compared to the information in the tent which was accurate.
Our 2 teenage grandchildren LOVED the cupboard bed, we loved the double bed and there was also a bunk bed room where we stored the clothes.
Having read the reviews we took lots of long matches, 2 gas stoves and extra gas (for a quick coffee/brew in the morning and for a quick fried breakfast), and wellington boots. If you have teenagers I would recommend taking a fully charged large capacity power pack for their phones etc. which can then be charged overnight in the communal shower block or the shop.
We would recommend this holiday to any one who is unsure about real camping and needs to try a wonderful experience.
Thank you Faye.
