Two Feather Downs offers you the chance to test out your skills with rod and line. The encampment at Chesters backs onto the Teviot, a renowned Scottish salmon river. John and Ellie offer fishing courses there throughout the summer. At Upper Shadymoor, you can get fly fishing lessons. The rest of your group can admire your skills from the comfort of the hot tub set up lake-side.Discover our farms

It was no coincidence that the new word ‘glamping’ was coined by a journalist around the time we launched to describe what was on offer at Feather Down. We are proud to have been a pioneer for a new way of holidaying but with some of the elaborate tree-houses and palatial yurts on offer today under the banner of ‘glamping’, we feel that some of the original simplicity has been lost. A Feather Down holiday is about escaping to a simpler way of life and that’s what we focus on now, whether it’s our wi-fi and electricity free canvas hideaways, our straightforward pricing or our no-fuss website.
