Escape to a simpler life with Clara and Cyrille

Discover Penquelen Huella in Finistère, Brittany. This organic dairy farm with its low walls is typical of the region and is run by Cyrille and Clara. They have a colourful and varied herd of thirty dairy cows. The pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks, goats, cats and rabbits complete the picture. The lodges are set up on the edge of the field, in the shade of the trees, with a view of the meadow where the cows graze.

Explore the Breton coastline

Penquelen Huella Farm is only 40 minutes from Concarneau. On the Breton coastline, you will find several hiking trails and dozens of cycle paths. From the farm you can discover the hilly countryside of the region and you can also take the opportunity to explore the surrounding villages.

What to do at Penquelen Huella Farm

Children will be able to look after the animals, go for a donkey ride, help the farmers milk the cows, swing and play in the straw in complete safety. In the honesty shop, you will find many regional products like sausages, local meats, cider and homemade apple juice... Stock up on some local produce and prepare a slow-cooked dinner on your wood-burning stove in your lodge or on the barbecue on your terrace. Take advantage of your holiday in our comfortable lodges to disconnect from everyday life and enjoy nature!

Going without electricity is our greatest luxury

Pizza Night

The farmer will usually fire up the pizza oven during your stay. Everyone gathers round to tell their stories of the day’s adventures and invent pizza toppings you’ll never find on the high street

Ask the Farmer

The farm tour is a must if it’s on offer. But you don’t wait till then. The farmer will be delighted to tell you more about how what goes on at the farm at any time.

The Farm Shop

It’s great for the basics and usually even better for local produce and low food miles. And every Feather Down farm shop operates on an honesty basis.

Meet your hosts

Clara and Cyrille

During our mid-thirties and forties, we made a career switch to live closer to nature. We chose to start a dairy farm and organic farm in one.
Cyril, who is a farmer’s son himself, wanted to live out his dream and saw this as an opportunity to share this with me and our youngest kids Yanis and Elise.

"
Our beautiful dairy farm has kept its authenticity through the years. We keep 30 cows all of which have their own individual look.

We had a wonderful stay and our daughter loved it. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and inclusive. We didn't predict how cold the nights would be in early September - will be taking more clothes next time!! We would definitely recommend this lovely farm and this location.

A wonderful time for all of us, never a mention of iPads or TV for a week, just feeding goats and collecting eggs.

Our fourth Featherdown Farm experience did not let us down. First time travelling abroad. . The additional shower element was fabulous. The cows, goats, chickens, rabbits, duck, pigs, guinea pigs, the shy dog and friendly cat Noisette were all entertaining. Not forgetting Gypsie the pot belly pig! We saw the traditional pizza/bread oven and looked forward to that experience but it never came and due to language barrier couldn't find out why which was a shame.

Amazing, Cyrill and Clara were very welcoming - the setting of the tents and all facilities at the farm were fantastic. We were also lucky with wonderful weather and enjoyed some lovely day trips in the surrounding area. Some many great memories made.

We loved our stay at La Ferme de Penquelen. Clara and Cyrille were lovely and made us feel very welcome on the farm. The kids loved running around the farm, playing on the hay bales, collecting eggs, rounding up the cows for milking and playing with the animals (esp the gorgeous little kitten). It gave them a new found freedom that they don't have in a city. The farm is located about 40 minutes drive from some stunning beaches. Overall it was a holiday that worked for both kids and adults - happy glampers.
