This is a perfect location to go away with a group of several families. We had the whole site to our selves. Open spaces, good walks, great tents and showers. Spectacular National Trust gardens and manor 2 minute walk away. Campfires available for every tent. Perfect for a long weekend in nature.

We had a fantastic few days enjoying life on a farm in a lovely part of the Cotswolds. The facilities were excellent and our host was welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Lots to do in the local area with lovely pubs for an evening meal. The kids enjoyed collecting fresh eggs in the morning. We will definitely be back!

Lovely setting but dirty tents a real shame

It wouldn’t take much effort to remove the bird poo. You can’t put your rubbish in the bin without touching bird poo. There was even bird poo in the laundry bag.

Just wonderful. We had the best time. The farm and area was idyllic. Tents and camping area fabulous.

A wonderful break from social distancing and face masks!

Made the best of poorly maintained facilities.

Great tents tucked away in one of the most picturesque areas of the Cotswolds

A great stay! Beautiful area, quiet location.

Really magical family time

Hidcote farm is set in a beautiful location in the Cotswolds. It is set within rolling hills with quilted farmland, there are many walks and wonderful little villages with bags of character. The facilities were first rate and Farmer John was very helpful and had clearly spent a lot of time organizing a Covid compliant holiday for us. We felt very safe and relaxed in the Natural setting. We had a birthday meal at the Kings Arms in Mickleton , the food was excellent and even kept a fussy Vegan happy. A beautiful part of the world , we look forward to a return visit. Thank you Farmer John and Family.

So relaxing and fun. A weekend getting back to basics - with a little luxury thrown in!

8.8
What a fantastic few days. The perfect place to get back to basics - outdoor cooking, candles & oil lamps in beautiful surroundings. John gave us a very warm welcome & we were greeted every morning by a few roaming lambs as well as a daily visit to see the horses, chickens & ducks.

Beautiful rural experience!

Blissful - a lovely few family days relaxing and enjoying the beautiful countryside. The tents are amazingly sturdy and weather proof. Manage to weather the storms warm and cosy. The Hidcote Manor gardens are stunning and we enjoyed playing a game of tennis there.

Brilliant fun. Scrambled eggs every day from freshly laid eggs! Relaxing despite the rain and the kids didn’t want to leave! X

We have been holidaying with Feather Down Farms for 7 years and return year after year as we are guaranteed exceptional service from the farmers, beautiful quiet locations and good facilities for children and adults. Unfortunately, our friends in neighbouring tents and our family felt that this particular Feather Down experience didn’t hit the expectations we had hoped for. On arriving, we realised that there was no farm tour on offer like other farms we have visited. The farm is located in a spectacular part of the Cotswolds with breathtaking views. However, the tents are located at the very bottom of the one field with no views. It is quite a trudge with a wheelbarrow full of your luggage to get to the tents. There is no offer of a way through using a vehicle for those who aren’t able to push a wheelbarrow up the steep hill. We were told on arrival that there was no farm shop (as advertised), and that we’d have to drive to the local shop to get food or necessities. We were hoping for a car free holiday... The tents were ill equipped; blunt knives, not enough cutlery v 12 egg cups! Between the tents we had to sort our equipment out between us. Our toilet wasn’t working on arrival and we cleaned the communal area before we moved in. We left the bird’s nest! We always enjoy the pizza night, but unfortunately this one was a case of the farmer turning up, lighting the oven and saying ‘over to you’. On departing there wasn’t even a good bye from the farmer for us or our fellow campers. We would definitely visit the Cotswolds again, but avoid this farm.

Amazing way of getting away from it all, enjoying idyllic scenery and experiencing a new and fun adventure. Made a very memorable weekend for a special birthday celebration.
Thank you to farmer John Righton for being so welcoming and lighting the pizza oven for us!

Really lovely break in the country

Hidcote was beautiful and the owner John was very friendly and happy to share info about Lovely family walks we could do on our stay.

We really enjoyed the experience - farmer John is very nice. We have stayed there twice now and would suggest the following 1) put a sign on the electric fence - our two year old touched it and was hurt 2) add a plank of wood to the boggy area you walk through to stop buggies and luggage getting wet and make it easier to access the accommodation 3) cleanliness of hut could be improved - evidence of previous occupiers was in tent 4) honestly shop fairly barren - it could be an opportunity to make money and would benefit customers

It was quite challenging initially not having any electricity and not being able to park car next to our accommodation but these things did not detract from our overall enjoyment of the weekend stay.

A perfect \'get away from it all\' experience.

A relaxing and fun weekend with friends and family. Life slowed down.

Amazing location with just the right amount of amenities for a very comfortable stay.

We had an absolutely amazing few days on the farm! John was so accommodating, the countryside was beautiful and the peaceful and the cabins were much more comfortable than expected!

10
An absolute delight. All the fun of camping but none of the hassle setting it up.

10
Right to the basics of camping with luxury of cosy beds and flushing toilet!

8.8
A great experience overall. The location is stunning and but hand lodges are well stocked with utensils.
Unfortunately the shower was cold which was very disappointing as the shower was the reason we paid extra for the frills lodge. Wish I hadn't told the children they would be collecting eggs for their breakfast as there were no eggs and the young children were very disappointed!!

8.8
Great, we loved it. The only disappointment was no hot water in our shower for entire weekend. We had paid for a frills tent with hot shower but we could not use this facility. The farmer was very apologetic but we do feel as if we paid for a luxury we did not receive.

8.8
Friendly farmer, fantastic tents, amazing adventures for the kids, relaxing time for the parents in wonderful surroundings. We will be going back!

Another wonderful Featherdown experience. Hidcote is a gem. John is a wonderful host - very warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.

For the amount it cost we were very disappointed with extra payments. Thought it was overpriced. It would have been a far better experience had the weather been kinder. Not something we would wish to do again.

Amazing! We all had an amazing time at Hidcote Manor Farm - what a wonderful place! fabulous tent in the middle of a field full of grazing sheep! such a wonderful contrast to home life! - Tents perfectly appointed and lovely comfortable beds and cosy duvets. We all enjoyed the great outdoors and making our morning brew on the outdoor stove! - the children enjoyed their morning rummage through the straw searching for fresh eggs at the hen coop and feeding the sheep was brilliant too. Fabulous touches like the pizza oven made it a great three nights on the farm! we will be back! Rachael. Matt. Noah(5) Isaac (3) Xanthe (1)

We had a fantastic time at Hidcote Farm, the tent was great the welcome was warm and everything we needed was at our disposal. The beds were comfy and warm and my children absolutely loved the freedom of running around and checking for eggs and feeding the sheep. The Hidcote gardens were nearby and were beautiful to walk round too. Farmer John was lovely and made sure our stay was everything we hoped it would be.
