If it's a family holiday close to the coast that you are looking for this year, you've come to the right place. Nearly half our farms are within 30 minutes drive of the seaside.
The usual favourites are covered. In Cornwall we have two jewels in Treganhoe and Gwel Teg. Devon has Fountain Violet overlooking the bay at Dartmouth. But with Feather Down you'll also discover coastal beauty spots that are off-the-beaten tracks like in Essex and Scotland for example.
Make the wood-stove your new best friend in your new Feather Down home. It has the feel of a farmhouse from days gone by. Whether it’s for a weekend or longer, there’s the space for up to five adults plus a child up to 12 years old.
With Feather Down Farms we offer our guests a glimpse of a simpler way of life, without electricity and wi-fi and the gadgets that hold us hostage every day. You’ll forget all those so-called ‘mod cons’ within hours of your arrival in your new cosy home.

It was no coincidence that the new word ‘glamping’ was coined by a journalist around the time we launched to describe what was on offer at Feather Down. We are proud to have been a pioneer for a new way of holidaying but with some of the elaborate tree-houses and palatial yurts on offer today under the banner of ‘glamping’, we feel that some of the original simplicity has been lost. A Feather Down holiday is about escaping to a simpler way of life and that’s what we focus on now, whether it’s our wi-fi and electricity free canvas hideaways, our straightforward pricing or our no-fuss website.
