Discover our newest farm, a modern farm of the Vansevenant family in Torhout. Here Wim, Vicky and the children live together with their sheep. You may not be completely unfamiliar with the name 'Vansevenant', because Wim is a well-known ex-cyclist from Belgium. Wim is the son of a farmer and after cycling he picked up his great passion for farm life again. Potatoes, spinach, corn and wheat are grown on their farm. The tent houses are spread over the terrain in the middle of the sheep. The Vansevenant family welcomes you to Landgoed ter Wijnendale.

What to do at the farm

Do you want to clear your head completely? Then you are in the right place at this farm. Here you can explore the peacefulness of nature. The farm is really small-scale: there are only 3 canvas hideaways on the site. Enjoy a lot of peace, nature and the rural surroundings of Torhout. The farmer is happy to teach you all about arable farming or you can help him feed the sheep. Wake up in the morning to the most beautiful bird orchestra you've ever heard. Here, you finally experience what it's like when days seem to last forever. Enjoy quality time with the family, a good book in the sun, extensive dining and lots of games. Immerse yourself in Belgian country life.

Discover the local area

The farm is located on the edge of a forest: perfect for long walks. In 2 minutes you are already in the Wijnendale forest and you can regularly spot deer here. Fancy a cooling day at the beach or a breath of fresh air? Within 30 minutes you are on the beach of Ostend.

Of course you should not forget the impressive castle of Wijnendale. In the summer months you can visit this historic moated castle. Learn all about the Counts of Flanders and Dukes of Burgundy here. Or visit the mustard museum, ice cream farm Moereveld or brasserie Heuvelhof. You definitely won't be bored exploring this idyllic area.

De rust van amper 3 tenten, de stilte en de ruimte alsook het contact met de familie was voor ons een top ervaring. Boer Wim altijd beschikbaar en antwoorden op alle vragen. Wat een luxe 🫶🏻

Wij hebben een super leuke tijd met ons gezin gehad. Het is echt een beetje back to basic maar met het gevoel van alles mag en niets moet. Gewoon relaxen.

Het was een verademing om eens te ervaren hoe het is om quasi zonder elektriciteit te leven. Verrassend genoeg ging dat tamelijk vlot; ook voor de kinderen.

Super leuk ,het weer viel wel wat tegen maar we hebben ons toch goed geamuseerd

Wij hebben een heel fijn lang weekend op de boerderij gehad! Onze kinderen wilden nog helemaal niet huis en wij eigenlijk ook niet. Aanvankelijk dachten wij dat de kids zich misschien snel gingen vervelen en hadden wij op voorhand al kaartjes gekocht voor plopsa en de dierentuin maar achteraf gezien was dat helemaal niet nodig want de kinderen vermaakten zich prima op de boerderij! Tussen de schapen, op de trampoline en zelfs een keer met de boer op de trekker. De boer was ook enorm aardig en zeer gastvrij en we kregen de eerste avond zelfs nog een bakje heerlijke aardbeien. Wij hebben hier echt genoten en kunnen dit dan ook iedereen aanraden, heerlijk rustig en back to basic op de boerderij.

Wim, Vicky en Steffi zijn ontzettend lieve mensen. Na een hartelijk ontvangst kon onze midweek op deze prachtige locatie beginnen. Wij voelden ons welkom van de eerste tot de laatste minuut. Onze 4 kids hebben zich kunnen uitleven op het voetbalveld en op de trampoline. De schapen hebben onze harten gestolen. Nogmaals dankjewel Landgoed ter Wijnendale voor de supertoffe vakantie! Wij komen volgend jaar graag terug. ;)

Ons verblijf was zeer aangenaam. Wij hebben ontzettend genoten. De tent is ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. Wim is een geweldige gastheer. Onze kinderen vonden het heel leuk om iedere dag de schapen te voeren, hout te hakken en eieren te rapen.
