Farm stays under canvas

Despite miserable weather on arrival, had a very warm welcome from Martin and Joby. The weather improved, thankfully, and it was absolutely glorious staying on the farm. Everything was well organised, Martin was always on hand to assist and the kids absolutely loved walking with the alpacas (teenage boys, so generally usually very hard to please!) Also had the fantastic experience of seeing an 8 hour old calf and a very informative talk from Martin. A real community feeling with other campers staying on site. An absolutely wonderful holiday.

Relaxing with amazing setting and scenery. Our kids absolutely loved the freedom to run around camp with the other children they met and share marshmallows by the communal campfire. We have been to Feather Down farms 5 times previously but East Shilvinghampton was definitely our favourite.

We had the most incredible weekend at Warren Farm! The accommodation was beautiful and Kate and James were wonderful hosts that were always thinking of us! We booked four tents for the weekend for a very special hen. She described the weekend as the best one in her life. Kate and James were very helpful and caring. They lit our fires whilst we were out to ensure our tents were warm on arrival and were available to answer questions when ever needed. The whole experience was fantastic.

A really relaxing enjoyable week. We loved our surroundings and the genorosity and friendliness of the owners. My favourite part of the holidy was looking after the hired chickens and the farm tour which was really interesting and informative. Communal eating is also really fun, a lovely opportunity to get to know everyone. The only slight downside was the honesty shop which could have had a lot more in it to be properly useful but we worked around it by buying extra food in elsewhere.

We had a great time at New Barn Farm. The farm is great fun for the kids: picking chicken eggs, cuddling guinea pigs, feeding pigs and grooming ponies… The hosts offer a super fun pizza night and a brilliant farm tour on the back of a tractor. The tent had everything we needed and we loved not having electricity for a few days.

Despite the rubbish weather we had a brilliant week. We were greeted and shown round on arrival and checked in on every day by the lovely hosts. The farm was well looked after and animals we met were all very friendly. The tent had everything we needed and beds were comfy and warm despite the 45mph winds! The kids socialised with other children and were building tree houses from day one which was great to watch. Our 14 year old collie loved her holiday too and the farm was well set up to bring your own dog.
