Families and couples who love to put on their walking boots will find the South Downs National Park an irresistible draw. Here you can explore flora-rich chalk glassland by foot, bike or horseback and savour breathtaking views across the county. To enjoy the traditional fun of the seaside, visit Southsea's bustling and colourful Victorian esplanade or the child-friendly beaches of Hayling Island and West Wittering.
In August 2006, Anna and Will opened the UK’s first Feather Down farm, Manor Farm in East Hampshire. Only an hour from London, it remains a tranquil oasis of calm within the South Downs National Park, a classic English landscape of rolling hills and sunken lanes. Guests young and old are always delighted by the farm buggy as they can join to check on the animals. Many of the guests find the campsite environment so relaxing they rarely venture outside. In this rural paradise, there is still luxury to be enjoyed! Sit out in a hot tub looking up at the stars or in a ‘frills’ tent with its own ensuite shower.
A tour of Portsmouth's naval dockyards is a must for anyone interested in the UK's maritime heritage. Walk where Admiral Nelson once trod the decks on his flagship, the HMS Victory. A trip up to the Sky Deck of the 170m Spinnaker Tower will give you a panoramic overview of the harbour and the Solent. Alternatively, go for a stroll around the cobbled lanes of Winchester with its medieval cathedral and Great Hall.
Midgham Farm in the New Forest was the 2016 Prima Baby award-winning Feather Down representative. Its woodland has been in the family since 17901! Today ponies live alongside pigs and piglets, alpacas, 3 goats, 2 bunnies, and lambs. Midgham Farm is also expecting to welcome 3 foals early this year. Children will also love the rope swings and climbing ropes plus all the sand pits with sit-on diggers.
