Outdoor living in Gelderland

Glamping in Holland offers the perfect family holiday. Your children will love this opportunity to watch the cows being milked or just to pet a donkey. Or you may prefer to simply luxuriate in the peace of outdoor living. All of the Feather Down lodges are spacious and well equipped. As there is no electricity they are lit at night by candlelight, firelight or simply by starlight.

Cycling, paddling and hiking

My children just loved being on the farm! They were in the straw-barn (with trampoline and rope swing) from immediately after breakfast until we dragged them into bed when it was dark! All the children could hang out here and make friends,

    • Paleis Het Loo (an easy 12-mile bike ride) • Kröller-Müller Museum and Hoge Veluwe National Park - both wonderful for children and adults. The white bikes (available for children and adults) are a really fun way to explore the huge and beautiful park. • Beautiful circular bike ride along the IJssel river from Veessen, with cheap ferry crossings at Veessen and Olst

We went to Giethoorn for the day and hired an electric boat. Giethoorn is only an hours drive away and well worth the trip. It's beautiful and a fun thing to do with kids. We also visited the Dolfinarium in Hardewijk. Only 15 minutes drive away and lots of fun for the kids!

A definite MUST is to hire bikes from the farm and do the 20km cycle route up to Tiel, take foot ferry across river WAAS and cycle in a circle. Finish off at the restaurant Dijkhuis where food is delicious and the hostess very welcoming.

We found a beautiful town called Heusden which was only a few miles away and was great to explore. Also make sure you have time just to be on the farm as this was really the best part of our holiday.
