Wyresdale Park is every child’s idea of paradise. There are so many activities on offer that you and your little ones will be kept entertained for hours! Nearby Wyresdale lake is the perfect place to boat, paddle and swimming. In the evening you can relax in the hot tub and soak up the Lancashire country air, all in the setting of this gorgeous country estate.
Wyresdale Park absolutely feels as though it could be the original setting for Swallows and Amazons. There are hidden coves for hammocks and campfires, acres of glorious countryside in a lakeside location, where kids and adults alike can completely unwind. Kids can relax and entertain themselves with fold out camp beds, tables, chairs, games, and a rope swing. Just 1.5 km away, you will find Old Holly Farm, an excellent petting zoo, play barn and working farm. The estate also serves as a gateway to the unspoiled charm of The Forest of Bowland Area of National Beauty.
A stay at Wyresdale Farm offers a total retreat from the modern world. Tents are sheltered by the woods and look out on to Wyresdale lake, with its boating jetties ready whenever you wish to set sail. Then light your campfire and enjoy the rejuvenating effects of the outdoors from the comfort of your tented lodge. The whole family can pitch in at mealtimes, rustling up a nice slow-cooked dinner on the wood burning stove. There location doesn’t offer an honesty shop at the campsite but there are local shops very close by.
At the Hall, you will find the locally adored Walled Garden Café, lovingly run by Sally in the restored Victorian glasshouses, which serves quintessentially English cream teas, light lunches, and hearty English breakfasts. The surrounding gardens feature lawns for croquet and football. For the more adventurous glamper, there are tall trees that you can climb! Back at the house you can experience James’s house tours, which are often embellished with funny and fascinating details- something all the family will enjoy!
Be sure to explore the Tolkien-esque beauty of the Forest of Bowland. Wyresdale Park is also a springboard to the world-renowned Lake District, with Lake Windemere a forty-five-minute drive away.
