Pant y March Farm is set high on the mountainside overlooking Llyn Tegid (Lake Bala) – the largest lake in Wales – Yr Aran, Arenig Fawr and other peaks in Snowdonia. The location of the two exclusive and luxurious Feather Down tents is truly jaw-dropping, with far-reaching lake views. Due to its mountainous location, the farm is a peaceful haven, where younger visitors are safe to roam freely. Llyn Tegid is just a 20-minute walk away if you fancy a summertime swim.
If you ever feel like a caged animal in the city and long for the great outdoors, a visit to Pant y March will do you a world of good. Geraint and Llinos farm 300 hardy Welsh Mountain ewes in a traditional, organic and sustainable way, and the farm really feels like an escape from the humdrum 9 to 5. To recharge after a day of exploring, tuck into Welsh produce from the honesty shop while admiring the view from the wooden-floored terrace of your tent. It’s also possible to charge your phone or tablet at the honesty shop. So you can remain as connected to the outside world as you choose.
The location is stupendous, and as the day draws to a close you can enjoy spectacular glowing sunsets shimmering in the lake, viewed from the private hot tub bedside your tent. It’s possible to have the site completely to yourselves for that special family gathering, girls’ weekend or reunion of friends. The communal area next to the pizza oven is the perfect place for large groups to gather.
Geraint and Llinos don’t believe anyone or anything should be penned in – whether animal or human. Their sheep, calves and donkeys all roam free! Though if you bring your horse they would be more than happy to stable it.
To take your adventure further afield, try the canoeing centre at Tryweryn, or the Coed y Brenin biking forest 8 miles away. Or why not take a train up to the peak of Snowdon? Worth traveling a little further for is the amazing Bounce Below indoor cave trampoline experience 45 minutes away, or indoor surfing at the new centre in Conwy, 1 hour away.

We are the Jones family, Geraint, Llinos and daughter Martha, and we purchased Pant y March in 2007. The family has had a long association with the place as Llinos’ grandfather was born here more than a century ago. Due to its mountainous location the farm is a peaceful haven without a lot of heavy machinery, meaning that younger visitors can be free to roam.
