Of course, Feather Down farms are full of animals, usually cows, chickens and sheep. But you are probably not aware how many of them are set up for you to be able to look after other animals, whether it is your own or the farmer’s.

Take your dog on holiday

Many of our farms are happy to welcome your dog along on holiday with you. After all, they are part of the family. However, your dog must be kept on a lead on the farm and you can only take a maximum of two per tent. Otherwise, the lives of the farm animals risk being disturbed, however friendly your dogs may be.

Groom a horse, or bring your own

There are horses and ponies available to groom or walk with at the following Feather Downs:

  • Balnab
  • Bucklebury
  • Great Barn
  • Midgham
  • Mount Pleasant
  • New Barn
  • Sunninglye

Rabbits, guinea pigs, alpacas…it’s animal magic

You can hire a rabbit in its hutch (Chesters) and guinea pigs (Midgham), get up close to alpacas (East Shilvinghampton, Manor) and llamas (Bucklebury). You can rent a chicken at many of our farms.
