Dordogne | France | Glamping Family Holidays on the Farm

Dordogne Glamping – a feast for the senses!

A Dordogne glamping holiday on a farm in the south-west of France will delight the eyes, ears and taste buds. A few kilometres from Perigueux, La Grange du Bost is the height of unpretentious luxury with its en-suite Canvas Frills Lodge tents, which fit seamlessly into the landscape while providing a comfy and cosy place to stay. The Périgord Vert area is famous for the greenery of its forests and meadows, which gives the region its name. It is a sparsely populated part of France, which makes it wonderful for getting away from it all and enjoying all that makes the French countryside great.

In the tent, you can enjoy the enveloping warmth of the wood-fired burner and the fun that comes with getting it blazing. Your tent will be in the midst of laying hens, donkeys, horses, and many more, so the soft sounds of nature are all around. The natural environment and exceptional panoramic views are special features of La Grange du Bost.

A gourmet region

The Périgord Vert is known and loved for its local specialties: foie gras, truffles, walnuts, chestnuts, berries, snails, goose, apples and duck … the list goes on! Make sure you bring a healthy appetite with you on this Dordogne glamping holiday.

Exceptional sightseeing in the Dordogne

The cave of Lascaux and the Vézère Valley are a little over an hour from La Grange du Bost. Even closer to the farm is Brantome, the Venice of the Dordogne, and Bordeilles with its eighteenth century castle. La Grange du Bost farm is only an hour from Bergerac airport, making getting there easy and the farm a great base for exploring this area of France.

Mrs Richards - From Fri 04 Aug

We loved the following: the beautiful lake and beach at Jemaye for swimming - perfect for kids and a great day out. The caves at Villars - otherworldly and beautiful. Canoeing on the river. We also loved hanging out at the farm and feeding the animals etc, and the pizza evening arranged by the hosts was great. We had a lovely lunch at the local restaurant in Montagrier. And our eldest had a riding session in Tocane at the Point Vert riding school.

Miss Evans - From Fri 15 Jul

The lake at Jeymac was fabulous, brilliant for a day trip, shaded pine areas, kids playgrounds, fantastic lake with canoes, couple of food outlets, clean sandy beach.Brantome was very pretty, lively Sunday all day antiques market which was fun. Arrive early as parking in the town is limited. The grotto at Villars was interesting, Poppy loved it.
