Brilliant peaceful oasis

This was our fourth time at Le Domaine Saint-Christophe and we will keep going back for as long as they will have us! A fantastic location, with a brilliant team who looked after us incredibly well. We went horse-riding every day, enjoyed playing with the animals, bouncing on the trampolines and exploring the local area. Lac De Madine is just a short drive away for swimming, cycling, aqua park and a "Go Ape" equivalent. We loved our holiday and look forward to returning soon.

What a magical place! So pretty. The children loved the freedom of the farm and riding to the honesty shop to fetch croissants. The tents are very secluded and I loved the walk across the meadow to get to them. Our first featherdown holiday and definitely not the last!

We had a great week at St. Christophe. Savine and Pieter were very welcoming and the farm has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. My 9 year old son and I enjoyed riding out and lessons on the beautiful friesian horses. The tent was very comfortable and well equipped. We found plenty to do on the farm and in the surrounding area and wish we had been able to stay longer.

Totally unique, refreshing and invigorating. A one off experience that gave us very special family time away from the usual distractions of everyday life.

A really ideal location, you can just stay on the farm as there's masses of games and equipment to use - all for free. The kids loved the freedom there's a trampoline and swing ropes and catapult - which my kids named Tarzan Land. The small animals enclosure perfect for kids few pigs chickens rabbits donkey and Shetlands to climb in with and pet. The Fresian horses are beautiful - but they require a bit of experience to be able to book freely. Only my husband was a good enough rider so we all needed to be lead as these are big powerful horses not pony trekking docile nags!!! As we all needed the support of staff only managed 1 trip out in the week. There is a riding school at the Lake if kids just want a simple trek and this was very cheap and easy to book.

We had a wonderful week. Saving and Pieter and their family were very welcoming. There were other families (6) so that our children could make friends. The children enjoyed their freedom a lot, meeting friends at the trampoline, playing in the woods or going to visit the donkeys, pigs, chicken and rabbits. We just hung our hammock in a shady spot near our tent and enjoyed the peace. It was lovely walking past the beautiful horses and the little foals every time we needed something from the shop. We really appreciated being able to borrow books and games. The cloister is very charming.

This was the most perfect holiday. I had such high hopes and expectations and it was so much better than I could imagine. Both our children had a horse riding lesson, even our 18 month year old who is now horse mad... Nah Nah! We hardly left the campsite because we were so happy in the beautiful peaceful surroundings. We found wild strawberries, built dens and had water fights. The shop had nothing missing and the 'library' was fantastic we borrowed all sorts of books, toys, games and craft things. Everyone slept well and no one wanted to leave!

Stunning and peaceful location, majestic horses and an exceptionally welcoming family. Plenty of WW1 battlefields & forts to visit and our daughters (13 & 11yrs) enjoyed exploring them. Another beautiful morning spent kayaking on the river Meuse. Hours spent admiring "le Frison" horses plus our oldest went for a forest ride and loved it. Even more hours spent with the farm animals - taking donkeys & miniature ponies for forest walks, collecting eggs, stroking the bunnies and pigs. The accommodation was perfect and such a luxury to have a shower!! Just the place to be to enjoy nature and unwind.

This was our first time at a Father Down farm - and what an experience! The children didnt want to leave ... the location and facilities were great, but what made it extra special was Savine and Peter's personal touches and the other great families that come here. _x000D_
A wholesome, healthy holiday - no gadgets or gizmos, just old fashioned play in the fields and with animals! And we parents actually got to relax and chat while the kids disappeared for hours on end. A relaxing and fabulous holiday for kids and parents alike!
