We particularly enjoyed the beach at Porthcurno, which is only a short drive away. The car parking does get busy though on a sunny day, so do get there early! We enjoyed a Storytelling performance at the Minnack Theatre, which was a good introduction for the children. We did go to the Eden Project, which was a 1hr 20 mins drive. The children really enjoyed the rain forest and the hands-on exhibits. I would recommend NOT to go on a rainy day though, as it gets even more busy than usual! For a nice meal out, we would recommend the Gurnards Head near Zennor, the food was delicious and the staff very friendly - and we enjoyed the drive there along the coast.

  • We stumbled across Trevaski's farm in Hayle which was a real diamond of a find. Gorgeous (and very generous portions) selection of cakes, lovely deli selling all local produce and pick your own. The children also loved the animals on the farm which they were able to feed. Lizard Point, the Minack Theatre, Porthcurno, Praa Sands and Porthminster beaches were beautiful.

Porthcurno beach is a real treasure and St Michaels Mount is definitely worth visiting. There are so many wonderful places to visit but the children mostly liked being at the farm with the animals!

Some great walks that leave from the farm and include the local Cornish ponies. If you like fly fishing the Drift reservoir is just a few minutes walk and provides a great venue. The local beaches were all great with those on the south coast, Porthcurno for example, having an almost Mediterranean feel with white sands and clear turquoise sea.
