Boswarthen is a dairy farm of 125 cows spread over 550 acres, that lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offers sea views from its tents. There are beautiful beaches nearby where families can surf, swim and walk to their heart’s content. The area even has its own micro-climate, making it ideal for a UK beach holiday. Thanks to the climate, there are palm trees dotted around, plus calm beaches in the north when the south’s are windy, and vice versa.

Cornwall’s famed seafood, cream teas and, of course, pasties will give you energy to burn! Lovers of coastal walks will be spoilt for choice in this region. Alternatively, stay put and you may be lucky enough to witness a calf being born. Calving here happens mostly from July onwards, and milking takes place twice a day. Boswarthen also keeps Exmoor ponies and Shetlands, and on campfire nights, the children are in for the thrill of a ride on the farm buggy to see them. Your dog can be accommodated  and join you on your holiday (up to a limited number per weekend/midweek/week).

Every care has been taken to ensure that guests have an enjoyable and stress-free stay, from checklists, to late-arrival meals and full Farm Larder run-down. So, when a guest said the experience was “off the charts it was so good,” Maddy and Adrian felt appreciated. Indulge in Maddy’s delicious dinners and homemade fare, including, around the campfire, Cornish lasagna that another guest said should be in the Good Food guide! The tender beef from the honesty shop is also a perennial favourite with guests.

You’ll be drawn to nearby towns like St Ives for the wonderful light, like many famous artists before you.  The Eden Project and Minack Theatre are practically on the doorstep too. You can also visit the National Trust’s Trengwainton Gardens, Glendurgan and the Lost Gardens Of Heligan. Then there are the charming working fishing villages, the nearby tin mines at Levant and Geevor and a host of ancient heritage sites.

Adrian and Maddy

This will be one of our many seasons with Feather Down, and we simply love having guests here with us (and some even make a return trip!). We will enjoy showing you around and explaining about life on a Feather Down Collection dairy farm. We live here together with our two sons and we all look forward to meeting you.
