Highlights

Old friends reuniting, far-flung families reconnecting, a group of dads and their kids, a send-off for a bride-to-be… Milestone birthdays, significant anniversaries, naming ceremonies and even weddings. We’ve hosted them all.

We’ve kept the number of tents small at each farm, so it’s easy to take over the whole place – indeed for single sex parties we insist on it. Our tents are spaced both for easy interaction and a sense of privacy, so groups can be together without being on top of one another. Our farmers can provide as much or as little as you need, from lighting the wood-fired oven for starlit pizza suppers, to taking delivery of a case of top tipple.

A gathering at Feather Down can be surprisingly good value, from £60 per head for a long weekend. What’s more many of our farms offer added treats such as hog roast dinners or unlimited hot tub use. Find out more by calling our Group Reservation Line on 01420 80804.

Feather Down with Frills

Feather Down proudly takes its legendary rustic charm to grand new heights in 2013. Cranking up the comfort to offer its guests some extremely lovely added perks, six UK farms in Herefordshire, Devon, Lancashire, Wales and Hampshire offer this inclusive experience, giving its guests an extra peaceful, extra pampering Feather Down Farm Days break.

Each tent will have the unique homespun feel that Feather Down has come to be known for, but the style is slightly more sumptuous. Additions to the tents include a Feather Down Lounger; a verandah that adds a third of the tent’s size to its frontage; a private hot tub next to your tent and a private rustic shower – operated by warm water fetched in a barrel on wheels. Set in a beautiful field, this takes place under the huge, star-filled sky.

To make your stay even more comfortable the farmers at Hollings Hill, Pant y March, Dolphinholme, Aller, Manor and Billingsmoor will take care of an easy landing on the day of arrival by making your beds, offering a welcome hamper with some essentials for the first evening and a nice cake or bottle of wine to enjoy in the hammock or rocking chair on your verandah. *
A Frills stay at Feather Down costs from £425 and includes all these extra treats:

  • Private hot tub next to your tent
  • Private rustic shower next to your tent – warm water can be fetched with a barrel on wheels
  • Spacious verandah with rocking chair or hammock
  • Feather Down Lounger
  • Towels
  • Ready Beddy – your beds made up on arrival
  • A welcome hamper *
  • A home-baked cake or bottle of wine*

* These extra treats may vary. Please call the office 01420 80804 for the latest information

Tubs with a View

At Feather Down Farm Days we pride ourselves on having hot tubs that boast some of the finest vistas in Britain. Fancy a soak overlooking your own private lake in a deer park, the Malverns or St Michael's Mount? Then please be our guest!

It's as far away from any spa experience you can imagine. For one thing, being wood-fired, sustainability is our watchword. And what's more, our hot tubs are intended for use by the whole family - no 'adults only' signs here, the fun and relaxation is meant for everyone.

Set in the midst of the great outdoors, we offer do-it-yourself, invigorating goodness, served with a healthy dose of fresh British air, and accompanied by a soundtrack of twittering birds. This is a once-in-a-lifetime treat. As everything works without electricity or gas, our tubs are CO2 neutral; we provide fire wood and instructions, so you can heat the water to your perfect temperature. This experience is available at:

  • Upper Shadymoor, Shropshire
  • Boswarthen Farm, Cornwall

The field spa costs £80 for a part day at Boswarthen. At Upper Shadymoor their wood-fired cedar hot-tub set up by a lovely swimming lake comes with use of their unique water trampoline and the hire of their two kayaks for £95 for a morning, afternoon or early evening session.

Please note pre booked spa sessions are not refundable due to bad weather

Slow Food

We know that at home, cooking is all too often a case of rush rush rush, even if the starting point is a nice recipe book. So to help ease you into your holiday, our farmers have pulled together everything you could need to make a great feast for the family. The emphasis here is on simplicity, so no more stressing over weights and measures, or where to find obscure ingredients. The most important thing is that you take your time, and enjoy stirring the pot while looking out over the countryside.

Smoke Barrel Hire

Smoke Barrel Hire: Set up with the ingredients, fire wood, recipe, instructions and the smoke barrel itself, you’ll soon be smoking enough fish or chicken at your tent to feed four to six hungry people, all for only £39.50

Soup or Stew?

To experience true al fresco dining - and cooking! - take delivery of everything to prepare and cook from scratch, an extremely hearty soup or stew for four to six hungry people. Receive the firewood, ingredients, cast iron pot, and every utensil required - all direct to your tent. The cost is £27.50 for the soup or £32.50 for the stew.

Ready when you are

Premier Service

If you’re all in a rush to arrive, there’s no need to spoil the anticipation by stopping off for a service station meal on the way. With the Premier Service offered by many of our farms, a cheesy jacket potato and a hot drink can await you on arrival at your tent. Not only that, but your stove will be lit, the candles will be aglow and your beds made up. At £10 per person, this is reserved pre arrival.

Ready Beddy

If it’s just the made-up beds you need, then at £5 per person, Ready Beddy is for you. Again, this is bookable in advance, so the farmer can have everything arranged for your arrival.
