Cradley, Malvern, Herefordshire

Our Duchy of Cornwall farm is one of the originals, but in 2012 it’s all change at Hollings Hill. We’ve reduced the number of tents and upped the level of luxury – in Feather Down’s uniquely rustic way of course – by becoming the first Retreat with Treats farm.

Set in the Malverns, a stay in one of our six tents provides you with a complete package that makes your camping experience even easier. From the moment you arrive we’ll pamper you, transporting your luggage to your tent, which will already have been made cosy with the beds made up and the candles and stove lit. Also waiting for you will be a hamper of goodies and a home-baked cake. In addition, expect tents dressed with extra easy chairs and volume-adding verandahs.

During your stay you’ll have unlimited use of the smoke barrel and stewpot, paying only for ingredients, and there are wood-fired ovens (instead of stoves) in each tent, as well as a rustic outdoor AGA-style cooker for relaxed al fresco meals. You’ll also be treated to a half-day in the hot tub and sauna experience found in our open-air Field Spa.

If you need to break up the rest and relaxation, there’s plenty do to beyond the farm’s boundaries, including walking and biking in the Malvern Hills, visits to Great Malvern Priory or Eastnor Castle, and Malvern town itself, with its spring water and wells and specialist shops selling antiques, arts and crafts, and old books.

Meanwhile the farm continues to be the menagerie it’s always been, and our goats, Holstein-Friesian cows, ponies and chickens will all be waiting to welcome you.
