Talybont, Bangor

You’re guaranteed a warm, Welsh-speaking welcome at Glanmor Isaf – in fact we were very pleased when one of our past guests commented that “the family here do everything to make your stay a happy one, from coming to find you when a lamb is being born to encouraging you to watch them shear the sheep and even trim their toenails!” And we do pride ourselves on our hospitality.

We’re set in a landscape that represents wild Britain at its finest. There’s mountain biking on the North Wales Cycle Track, and climbing and vigorous walking along the North Wales Costal Path, not to mention a private pebble beach that is both a nature reserve and a Site of Specific Scientific Interest stacked with cockles and mussels for your campfire.

Your neighbours live in Penrhyn Castle; stray just a little further afield and you’re at the crenulations of Caernarfon and the sandy beaches of Anglesey. You can take in the scenery by narrow-gauge railway as there are four beautiful lines nearby; the most historic of these is the Snowdon Mountain Railway, which goes straight up to the summit of Wales’s highest peak.

Water sports can be enjoyed on the Menai Straits at Plat Menai Centre, and there are outdoor pursuits galore at Betws y Coed and Llanberis, each around 20 minutes away from Glamor Isaf by car. And for our littler guests there are GreenWood Forest Park and Angelsey Sea Zoo.

We’ve farmed here for four generations and are certified organic for Welsh Black cattle, hardy mountain sheep, pigs and chickens. Lambing is a particular early season attraction too.

We all look forward to welcoming you here and hope you experience and enjoy what we hold dear: traditional Welsh family farm life and the beautiful, peaceful countryside.
