...Evenings are special at Feather Down Farms

On a Feather Down Farm you will not find a television, computer, telephone (apart from your own mobile phone, if you really can't do without) or one of those other daily 'esentials'.

Because of this people get to do fun things. In the Feather Down Farm tent cupboard you will find old children books, as well as long-forgotten ones. Reading aloud is something that was done a lot in the old days.

And when, back then, ‘Mum’ used to darn the socks or embroider sheets and ‘Dad’ read the newspaper with a pipe in his mouth, he read out the news.

We now do ‘News’ at home on the TV, everybody together, but we hardly ever talk about it.

The evenings with Feather Down Farm are just like the old days, without distractions, meant for 'stories' and conversations. You can also take the tent light with you outside to enjoy a glass of wine, each other and the most fantastic starry sky that you can imagine (you had forgotten how 'dark' dark could be).

When you look up you see a wide strip full of stars and realize, at that moment, you are looking at the Milky Way. That is what the evenings with the Feather Down Farm are like ..... nothing special ...... we had just forgotten about it.
