We had a wonderful time! We found it very handy to bring extra blankets and waterproof fire-starting sticks for re-starting the fire each morning. We loved Lexi the donkey, Snickers and Pedro the Shetland Ponies, Garfield the kitty, Portia our bunny for the weekend, all the sheep and chickens and the adorable cows and baby calves. Some of our favorite things about this holiday were watching the ponies frolicking in the snow-covered pasture, making hot cocoa on our wood-burning stove after hours of sledding right out the front door of the cabin, making warm stew over the fire after a fun day hiking in the Winter sun and playing on the playground and trampoline, Hanna’s homemade bread, strawberry marmalade and Johannisberren (red currant) jelly, feeding the chickens and checking for eggs, petting the sheep, bunnies, ponies and donkey, making pizza and sharing a meal with the Shuarte family on our last evening and the kids loved riding the tractor. Hof Keppel is the perfect place to unplug and stay warm by a fire...bringing hygge to Deutschland!

We had such an amazing time at Featherdown. Just what our family needed. I cannot recommend college farm enough. Marcus and Lucy are so helpful and welcoming. My daughter loved the horse grooming session with Lucy. We will certainly be booking again.

Come and enjoy one of our 70 luxury glamping locations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Great Britain, Ireland, France, Germany, and even Switzerland! Experience life on a farm for a real breath of fresh air. Feather Down glamping means hardwood floors throughout your tent, quality bedding, the famous cupboard bed and a wood burning stove. The living area will be 45m2 to 51m2 depending on the type of tent. Your tent will offer you every comfort, while bringing you back to nature for a getaway that’s both relaxing and inspiring.
Feather Down is intended for all those looking for a quality glamping stay as well as a holiday that marries simplicity with style. Each Feather Down glamping accommodation comes without electricity or Wi-Fi, and these are replaced with the ambiance of oil lamps and candles, and the heat from a classic style wood burning stove. Time is spent learning about nature, life on the farm and each other. The tents and cabins are fully equipped for up to 6 people (max. 5 adults and 1 child under 12 years). A great holiday for all!
Yes, deer shed their antlers. No, chickens do not have teeth. No, cows do not drink milk. For children, everyday life on the farm will be a source of endless discoveries. Feather Down offers children the chance to live close to the animals they usually only see on their screens at home. Each host gives their own tour around the farm, and this often how kids make friends at other tents and get introduced to the farm animals. This unique proximity to nature remains etched in the memory of young and old. A family holiday glamping experience you will not find anywhere else!
Each farm has a pantry, or an Honesty Shop where you can find locally and regionally produced products. Cook good food from the comfort of your tent! In the kitchen area of the Feather Down tent you have access to running water and a wood stove with space for up to three pans. All units are equipped with the necessary kitchen utensils (pots, pans, cutlery, plates) that are needed to prepare the family meal. You’ll find that cooking, taking your time with the whole family pitching in, becomes a privileged and magical moment of a unique farm holiday.
